CT Scanning

CT Scanning

Our CT scanning service is available 7-days-a-week, with same-day interpretation and reports from one of a panel of recognised diplomates in veterinary imaging with extensive CT experience.

Our CT scanning service uses a 16-slice GE scanner which is among the most powerful available for veterinary use, allowing extremely fast and highly detailed scans.

The increased speed of the 16-slice scanner (typical scan time 15-45 seconds) also allows for most patients to be scanned under sedation rather than general anaesthetic.

There are wide ranging indications for CT some of which are listed below:

Head

Thorax

Abdomen

Oncology

Orthopaedic

We are happy to accept referrals for CT scanning alone, or you may wish to refer the case to one of our referral veterinary surgeons for a full investigation (to include CT where appropriate).  In either case, we will supply a CD of the scan with Dicom viewer software.

Out Patient Service

Here at Highcroft Vet Referrals we are pleased to offer a full out patient service for those cases only requiring a CT scan. We invite your client or ambulance driver to wait on site whilst the procedure is carried out, before returning the patient home or back to your care. In the majority of cases we use a reversable sedation, allowing us to complete the scanning process in approximately 30-60 minutes. We offer this service Monday - Friday.

For very urgent cases, express reporting is possible for an extra £30.  See fees for CT prices.

Please note, we cannot book any scans until a CT scan request form is fully completed.  You can either download one here or contact us and we will fax/send one to you.
