Jim Carter BVetMed DVOphthal MRCVS runs this specialist ophthalmology service from Highcroft's ophthamology clinic in Stockwood, Bristol. As an RCVS recognised specialist, Jim is the leading Veterinary Ophthalmologist in the South West

Jim Carter uses his diagnostic tools to assess the patients and discusses any treatment or surgery required with the owners.

He uses a state-of-the-art operating microscope and performs all types of intraocular and extraocular surgery including:

• Phacoemulsification cataract surgery and intraocular lens placement
• Electroretinography (ERG)
• Entropion and facelift surgery
• Catholysis
• Corneal surgery
• Lens luxation surgery

Jim is supported by an excellent team with veterinary surgeons Marit Jynge and Vim Kumaratunga, both of whom are currently enrolled on the RVCS Ophthalmology Certificate, and Vicki Campo RVN and Chris Gudge RVN. who have worked closely with Jim over the last few years and devote much of their CPD to this subject.
