The Ophthalmology team
Jim Carter MRCVS leads our ophthalmology team, supported by Marit Jynge MRCVS, Vicki Adams RVN and Chris Gudge RVN
Carter
Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology
Jim Carter is our visiting ophthalmology (eye) specialist, the only Ophthalmology Diplomate in the South West.
He is also a panellist for the BVA Eye Scheme which means that breeders can come to him for hereditary eye disease testing.

Vicki joined Highcroft in 1999 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2005.
Vicky assists Jim Carter in his ophthalmology clinics and operations.
Gudge
Referral Manager
Chris joined Highcroft in 2003 and became our first male veterinary nurse in 2006.
Since then Chris has gained a post graduate certificate, with distinction, in Anaesthesia and Critical Care.
Chris is a key member of our referral team. He assists Jim Carter with his ophthalmology clinics and operations and also Juliet Pope and Nick Macdonald in-surgery.
Chris also manages the running of our veterinary referrals service.
